The Deep

The Deep
What is The Deep? Its a 1977 movie with Nick Nolte and Jacquelene Bisset as well as Robert Shaw. Its a movie about two deep sea divers who come across treasure hunters who have nefarious plans for their little boat. Adventure ensues and the Score by John Barry is truly amazing. The song by Donna Summer is really good as well. I personally like this soundtrack, anything John Barry does is really impressive. He took his time with the music and the sounds he used caused you to embrace the movie's mood.

Here is a link to the soundtrack from Amazon The Deep Soundtrack

There isn't a link for the soundtrack from ITunes, but here are a few excerpts from the film.

Another clip is right here...

These are all I found, but if you can pick up the soundtrack you will be doing well.

The Rescuers

The Rescuers (1977) Disney
This was a childhood movie about a girl who was kidnapped by villianous people who wanted her to find them a giant diamond.  The only ones to rescue her are two mice. Bernard and Ms. Bianca set off on an adventure that shows them that even though small you can do so much good. The film was directed by John Lounsbery and Wolfgang Reitherman, it was voiced by several well known actors like Bob Newhart, Eva Gabor, Geraldine Page, and Joe Flynn just to name a few. The music in this movie was very memorable. I enjoyed it tremendously and hope that I can share some clips with you.

The Spy Who Loved Me

The Spy Who Loved Me (1977) James Bond

James Bond in yet another film where (Roger Moore) as James Bond hunts down missing British and Russian nuclear submarines with the help of a KGB agent whom he killed her lover. Its a pretty normal bond film. The underwater sequences are amazing. The car can change into a mini sub in the movie and for the 1970's its really good cinematography.  I liked this film well enough. The soundtrack is actually pretty good and enjoyable.  The score is done by Marvin Hamlisch. This score was nominated that year for the Academy Best Original Score. Amazing! I know!  The second Bond film to ever get nominated for such a award was Skyfall. So I want to give some links for this film's fine score.

Star Wars: A New Hope Episode IV

Star Wars: A New Hope Episode IV.

The year I was born brought us the greatest Sci Fi Space Opera of all times. No other movie has affected Pop Culture and regular culture than the movie Star Wars. From its unusual starting lines to the sweeping score that has been beloved by many. George Lucas was forward thinking when directing it and bringing one of the greatest composers of our time. John Williams who weaves a story with each score. Each track of the soundtrack brings us closer to the whole story. A while ago I listened to all the soundtracks in a row and realized how tight knit these were to each other. Even though the Prequels were made far after the original trilogy we see how the score weaves that story that we all love.  My love for it is great, considering I was born that year and my parents introduced me to the music when I was but a babe.  I could go on for hours, but how about some links for you to enjoy!
