Candleshoe (1977)

Candleshoe:
A childhood favorite of mine. We watched this movie several times. Jodie Foster in one of her first roles as a young teenager who finds out that she is the great granddaughter to a wealthy old woman, Helen Hayes. She has a gardner and butler David Niven. Now in amongst this whole movie there is a treasure hunting plot that an evil villian played by Leo McKern tries to coerce Jodie Foster into getting the treasure for him. She starts to do as she is told then has a change of heart.  In the end he is foiled. You may also remember Leo from movies in which he played characters like Blackbeard the Pirate in Blackbeard's Ghost, another Disney Movie. Anyway there is hillarity, mystery, fun, and laughter in this delightful movie Directed by Norman Tokar who directed The Apple Dumpling Gang; No Deposit, No Return; and The Cat from Outer Space. I really loved this soundtrack back in the day. The score was by Ron Goodwin.

You can find the soundtrack on Amazon now, its even reasonable.

There is one compilation album somewhere you can get the theme to Candleshoe on it. Here is a picture of it...

I know it isn't the whole soundtrack but the themes are great! Also When I think of Candleshoe I think of the Classic theme "Greensleeves". I tried to link the Candleshoe theme here from You Tube but couldn't get the link to work. You will probably need to search for it if you really want to hear the music.  It is really fantastic!

I guess this will have to do.
Next Week...Close Encounters of the Third Kind. Be Here for It!
